ASTRO C40 Replacement Modules
Battle Beaver Customs uses the same thumbstick mechanism found in the ASTRO C40 controller. This mechanism is modified with an improved and patent-pending tension system and then soldered onto a PCB compatible with the ASTRO C40 stick module.
What does this mean exactly? Using a T6 (Torx) screwdriver, you can remove the two screws holding the original C40 module together. The PCB with the thumbstick mechanism can then be replaced with one of the Battle Beaver C40 modules. You can choose from five different tension levels. Increased thumbstick tension allows for finer movements, improved precision, and optimized character control – perfect for intense gaming sessions.
If issues like stick drift occur with the original ASTRO C40 thumbstick modules and cannot be resolved with a controller reset, it is recommended to replace them with the Battle Beaver C40 tension modules.
Tension Levels
Original: Matches the standard tension of the C40 controller. Ideal for repairs.
Light: Approximately 20% less resistance than new original joysticks. This module provides a "broken-in" feel that gamers appreciate – without component wear.
Very Light: Approximately 40% less resistance. This setting makes the thumbstick particularly smooth and reduces hand fatigue during long gaming sessions. Note: There is a higher risk of accidentally moving the stick.
Increased: Approximately 75% more resistance. Recommended for FPS games, allowing for higher sensitivity settings without losing precision.
Heavy: Approximately 150% more resistance. Perfect for use with thumbstick extensions like KontrolFreek. Please note that with this setting, pressing L3 also requires significantly more force.
Important Notes
- This item includes one thumbstick mechanism pre-mounted on a PCB compatible with the ASTRO C40 controller.
- The colors of the PCBs may vary but do not affect the selected tension level.
- No manufacturer warranty: All modules are carefully assembled and tested by the manufacturer. If there are any technical issues upon delivery, they are covered under the statutory warranty in Germany.
